just to let you all know that the attendees at the 2 BMC meetings in the NW and Peak voted overwhelmingly against the motion of no confidence. It also seems the the proxy votes are comming in at 80% against it. If you not going to the AGM please remember to use your proxy vote..which ever way you want to vote….Cheers

I shall be voting against item 9 and the vote of no confidence in the BMC scheduled at the forthcoming AGM. A lot of politics with a small ” P ” it appears to me are being played out which risks the future of the BMC. In my view we need a strong governing body supported by its clubs.

There’s more background than you could possibly want on UKC see https://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?n=660614
This also sets out the case for the motion by its proposer (for what it is worth!).
Whilst it might seem like a storm in a teacup, this vote really does have the potential to massively damage the BMC and I’d encourage everyone to come to an informed decision and exercise their vote by proxy.
For what it’s worth – I have also voted AGAINST.

    Cheers

After reading the report to the BMC by Martin Wragg, which you receive with your proxy form, I don’t feel that that item 9 has made a sound case, and so I have voted against it

    Cheers
