Cracking the Flags at Cratcliffe (Finally!)

What a difference a week makes – from frozen fingers on Stanage the week before to sweaty mits at Cratcliffe; the temperature jumped nearly 20C in the week!

A strong Sheffield contingent (it is on their side of the hill) made impressive ascents of the mega classics of Fern Hill, Boot Hill, Five Finger Exercise and Suicide Wall – all at least a grade harder in the heat. Helen and I continued a strategy of seeking out starred routes we haven’t done before – always a likely source of surprises (some pleasant and some not so…)

Another RC team (or at least T-shirt) was sighted in the distance but escaped detection.

All set fair for the Roaches next week – See you there!
